MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Dowling College baseball team had 17 base hits in its 12-1 non-conference victory over Felician on Friday evening at the Ripken Experience Complex.

Dowling, which was playing its season opener, got out to a 5-1 lead after four innings off of Felician starter Scott Van Es (Secaucus, NJ) (0-1), who allowed 11 hits, struck out five batters and walked two over five innings. The Golden Lions scored twice in the sixth and five times in the seventh for the final margin.

The Golden Falcons were held to three hits on the evening. Dowling's Brent Lotito went seven innings, yielding one run on two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Henry Fuentes was 4 for 5 with a homerun and five runs batted for the Golden Lions, while Kevin Reese and James Healy had three hits apiece. Frank Quintana (Miami, FL) doubled and scored for Felician (2-2).
