RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men’s basketball team cut a 19-point second-half deficit to three points before yielding to visiting Bloomfield College, 99-93, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium

Bloomfield (8-16, 6-11) extended a 45-38 halftime lead to 68-49 with 14 minutes, 34 seconds, to play in the game. Still down 14 at the 8:15 mark, Felician outscored the Deacons, 20-9, over a six-minute span to pull within 88-85. But Bloomfield made 9 of 12 free throws over the final two minutes, including 7 of 8 by Andre Dabney (Plainfield, NJ), to lock up the victory. The first 11 minutes of the game featured 11 lead changes, until a 17-2 Bloomfield run allowed it to open a 38-24 advantage, which it never relinquished.

Dabney, the CACC’s leading scorer, finished with 36 points and seven rebounds, counteracting a career-high 37 points from Felician’s Sydir Mitchell (Paterson, NJ). The Deacons also received 22 points and 10 rebounds from Omari Knox (Brooklyn, NY) and 18 points and seven caroms from Anthony Separovich (Sydney, Australia). Jason Romer (New York, NY) had 14 points for the Golden Falcons (12-14, 10-9).
