PRINCE GEORGE, Va. – A bases-loaded single by Chris Flynn (Keyport, NJ) capped a three-run rally in the top of the tenth inning, leading Felician College to a 9-6 non-conference baseball victory over Bloomfield College on Friday afternoon at Prince George High School. The game was the season opener for both schools.

With the game tied, 6-6, Felician loaded the bases with one out off of Bloomfield reliever Thomas Batista (Sea Warren, NJ) (0-1). Mike Libretta (Staten Island, NY), who had entered in the ninth inning as a pinch runner, walked to force in the go-ahead run, and Flynn, a senior catcher, followed with a single through the right side to drive in two more runs. Anthony Spina (Toms River, NJ) (1-0) pitched a perfect bottom of the tenth, earning the victory with 2 1/3 innings of two-hit relief. Bloomfield scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth, with an Al-Jerome Burnett (Irvington, NJ) sacrifice fly forcing the extra frame.

Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ) and Flynn hit back-to-back homeruns leading off the fourth inning for the Golden Falcons, who also received homers from Mike Buckelew (Whitehouse Station, NJ) and Richard Melendez (Miami, FL). Flynn finished 4 for 5 with four runs batted in, and Buckelew went 3 for 6. Kevin Lauranzon (Dissputanta, VA) had three hits for the Deacons.
