Felician Athletics - 2/12/07 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Pierrot Named CACC Player Of Week

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College’s Michael Pierrot of Melville, N.Y., has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It is Pierrot’s second such honor of the 2006-07 season.

Pierrot, a senior center, was honored after helping the Golden Falcons to a 2-1 week, all against CACC opponents. He averaged 25.3 points, 14.3 rebounds and 5.3 blocked shots in the three games, while shooting 57 percent from the field. He blocked a career-high eight shots in a Feb. 5 triple-overtime win over Goldey-Beacom College. Pierrot is a 2003 graduate of Half Hollow Hills East.

Also today, Pierrot was named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season. The MBWA chooses its award winners from all three NCAA divisions. Pierrot was previously the CACC Player of the Week on December 18.

Felician is 12-12 overall and 10-7 in CACC play heading into Thursday’s game at Nyack. The Golden Falcons are tied for fourth place in the 11-team league with three games remaining.
