Felician Athletics - 2/10/07 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Pierrot, Mitchell Power Felician Men

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- Senior frontcourtmen Michael Pierrot (Melville, NY) and Sydir Mitchell (Paterson, NJ) combined for 59 points to lead the Felician men's basketball team past host Wilmington (Del.) College, 92-80, in CACC action Saturday afternoon at the Pratt Center.

Felician (12-12, 10-7) erased an early 22-8 deficit, taking two brief one-point leads before going into halftime trailing, 39-38. The Golden Falcons opened the second half with a quick 11-4 run, but slighty more than two minutes later, Wilmington re-took the advantage, 55-54, on a Taurean Temple jumper.

Felician scored the next five points to capture the lead it would never relinquish. The winless Wildcats (0-22, 0-15), however, remained within six points until a 17-4 Golden Falcon run pushed a one-point edge at 7:52 to an 85-71 advantage with 2:53 remaining.

Pierrot finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks, while Mitchell posted 28 points and eight rebounds, leading four Felician double-figure scorers. The Golden Falcons withstood a 30-point, eight-rebound effort from Temple.
