PHILADELPHIA -- The Holy Family University men's basketball team used 53-percent shooting from the floor to key an 84-68 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over visiting Felician College on Wednesday night at the Campus Center.
Holy Family (15-7, 10-5) received 24 first-half points from Ryan Lancaster in building a 50-38 halftime lead. The game's key stretch came in the last two minutes, 34 seconds of the opening half, in which the Tigers outscored Felician, 11-2, with Lancaster scoring eight of his team's points.HFU scored the first five points of period two, and the Golden Falcons never got closer than an 11-point deficit after intermission.
Lancaster finished with 34 points, connecting on 6 of 8 three-point attempts. Raheem Scott had 18 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists. Senior Michael Pierrot (Melville, NY) paced the Golden Falcons (11-12, 9-7) with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks. Felician, which was held to 38-percent shooting, saw a season-long four-game win streak snapped.
HFU is the first CACC school to win its 2006-07 season series from the Golden Falcons.
