RUTHERFORD, N.J.Michael Pierrot’s (Melville, NY) eighth blocked shot of the night, with 25 seconds remaining in the third overtime period, helped seal Felician College’s 92-88 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men’s basketball victory over visiting Goldey-Beacom College on Monday night at Job Gymnasium.

With his team leading, 88-85, Pierrot blocked a driving lay-up attempt, and a teammate grabbed the rebound. Sydir Mitchell (Paterson, NJ) made one of two free throws with 19 ticks showing on the clock. The Lightning missed on their next possession, and Pierrot rebounded, was fouled and made two free throws to put the game away for Felician (11-11, 9-6).

Last second heroics from Goldey-Beacom (11-10, 8-7) had twice extended the game. Derek Savage (Lincoln, DE) canned a three-point field goal with 3.8 seconds to play in regulation to tie the game at 66-66 and force overtime after his team had trailed by as many as 15 points in the early stages of the second half. An instant before the buzzer ending the first extra session, Savage tipped in a teammate's miss to knot the score, 71-71.

Pierrot finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds and the career-high eight blocks. Mitchell scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Jason James (Charlotte, NC/Millbrook[NY]) added 16 points off the bench. GBC’s Adrian Miles (Washington, DC) had a game-high 33 points and 10 rebounds, and Savage and Steven Cooper (Newark, DE/Glasgow) each recorded 19 points and 11 boards. Four players – Savage, Miles, Cooper and Mitchell – played the entire 55 minutes.
