RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Goldey-Beacom College saw a 20-point second-half lead cut to three points before going on to a 70-56 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s basketball victory over host Felician College on Monday night at Job Gymnasium.

Goldey Beacom (15-7, 12-5) opened up a 37-21 halftime lead and pushed its advantage to 20 points on two occasions in the opening four minutes of the second half. Still trailing, 54-39, with 9:04 remaining, Felician scored the game’s next 12 points, with a Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY) lay-up pulling her team within three at 4:20. But Casi Donelan (Fairfax, VA) made a three-point field goal on the Lightning’s next possession, igniting a 9-0 run which put GBC up, 63-51, and just 1:14 to go.

Toni Jones (Rehoboth Beach, DE) led all scorers with 19 points and added 7 rebounds for Goldey-Beacom, which also received 15 points and nine boards from Kim Rowley (Dover, DE). Natasha Scott (Philadelphia, PA) had 13 points and five steals. Laurin Brown (Bayville, NJ) led the Golden Falcons (1-24, 0-17) with 17 points, while teammate Crystal Ferrer (Bronx, NY) scored 13 points with a team-high six rebounds.
