RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College graduate Holly Van Dyke of West Milford has been named an assistant softball coach at her alma mater, Felician head coach Kathy Hill announced today.

Van Dyke joins the coaching staff directly off of her playing career for the Golden Falcons. A 2006 graduate, she was a four-year starter at second base, and was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Tournament team last season. The 2007 Felician squad includes two of Van Dyke’s younger sisters – Heather, a junior catcher, and Hope, a freshman infielder.

Van Dyke was a four-year varsity player at West Milford High, earning all-state honors as a senior. She remains an active player with the New York Raiders, an Amateur Softball Association women’s majors squad. She has previously coached at ASA level and assisted at various camps and clinics.

Van Dyke earned a bachelor’s degree in education/history from Felician. She joins holdovers Erin Fitzgerald and Danielle Green on Hill’s staff.

Felician is coming off a 26-25 season in 2006, including 12-10 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. The Golden Falcons finished third in last year’s CACC playoffs and qualified for the ECAC Division II Tournament.
