RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Post University women’s basketball team used 61-percent second-half shooting to defeat host Felician College, 81-67, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s basketball action Tuesday evening at Job Gymnasium.
Felician (1-22, 0-15) never led, but outscored the visitors, 19-6, over the final four minutes, 45 seconds, of the first half to slice a 17-point deficit to 38-34 at halftime. However, still leading by four with 14:23 to play, Post took control by scoring 13 consecutive points, the last seven by Marjorie Prado (Bronx, NY), to move ahead, 55-38, at the 8:56 mark. The Golden Falcons never got closer than a 13-point deficit after that point. The Eagles outshot Felician, 53-39 percent, for the night.
Prado led four Eagle double-figure scorers with a game-high 23 points. Tadj Williams (Albany, NY) had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists and LaToya Coley (Brooklyn, NY) 15 points and five assists for Post (5-15, 5-10). Felician’s Diane Burns (Brewster, NY) (five rebounds, six assists) and Laurin Brown (Bayville, NJ) each scored 17 points.
