Felician Athletics - WOMEN'S BASKETBALL 1/27/07

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Georgian Court University used a 15-0 late first-half run to take control of an eventual 86-65 CACC basketball victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday afternoon at The Casino.

Felician (1-21, 0-14), which never led, recovered from an early 11-point deficit to pull within 24-21 on a Jo Milling (Pymble, Australia) three-point field goal with eight minutes, 22 seconds, to play in the opening period. However, the Golden Falcons came up empty on their next nine possessions over a near-six minute stretch, allowing Georgian Court to build an 18-point lead.

The Lions (4-15, 2-12) led, 45-29, at halftime and never saw their advantage drop below 15 in the second half. They took their biggest lead of the afternoon, 69-44, with 6:15 to play.

GCU received game highs of 21 points and 14 assists from Stephanie Longdo, while Melinda Hunold recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds. Ashley Lobbato added 16 points and nine boards for the winners. Rochelle Forbes (Montreal, Canada) scored 16 points and Terry Sues (Kenilworth, NJ) a career-high 12 points for Felician.
