RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Brian Langan of Union Beach has been named the pitching coach for the baseball team at Felician College, head coach Chris Langan announced today.
Brian Langan, 22, is the younger brother of Chris Langan, who is entering his fourth season with the Golden Falcons, and lead assistant Steve Langan. He is the head instructor at the Play Ball Baseball Facility in Marlboro.
Langan was a two-time all-state performer at Keyport High School before graduating in 2002. As a junior, he was named Monmouth County Player of the Year and Shore Conference Most Outstanding Hitter in leading the Red Raiders to the state finals for the first time. He was the conference Pitcher of the Year and the Bayshore Reporter Player of the Year in 2002, and was named to the Carpenter Cup team. He played collegiately for Brookdale Community College.
Langan replaces Chris Clark, who resigned after one season.
Felician is coming off a 29-27 season in 2006 in which it set single-season program records for victories and homeruns (35). The Golden Falcons were the runners-up in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament and qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II playoffs.
