RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Michael Pierrot of Melville, N.Y., a senior at Felician College, has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
In Felician's only game last week, an 89-76 non-conference home victory over Molloy College on Dec. 11, Pierrot scored a career-high 33 points and added 12 rebounds in ony 28 minutes of action. The 6-foot-10, 260-pound center made 14 of 21 field-goal attempts and shot 5 for 7 at the foul line.
Pierrot is a graduate of Half Hollow Hills East. He is averaging 14.9 points and 6.9 rebounds this season for the 3-6 Golden Falcons, and ranks second in the CACC with 2.2 blocked shots per game. He is the first basketball player, male or female, to earn Player-of-the-Week honors for Felician this season. Teammate James Harper was named Rookie of the Week on Nov. 20.
