Felician Athletics - 12/11/06 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Pierrot, Mitchell Carry Felician Past Molloy, 89-76

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College seniors Michael Pierrot (Melville, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) and Sydir Mitchell (Paterson, NJ/Paterson Catholic) combined for 58 points in the Golden Falcons’ 89-76 non-conference men’s basketball victory over visiting Molloy College on Monday night at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (3-6) took control by scoring the last seven points of the first half, including five points in 13 seconds by Richard Fegins (Linden, NJ/St. Mary’s-Elizabeth), to take a 44-37 halftime lead. The opening period had seen nine ties and four lead changes. The Golden Falcons extended to a 15-point edge with 15:44 to play. Molloy twice came within six points, the last time at 66-60 with 7:47 remaining, but never drew closer.

Pierrot made 14 of 21 field goal attempts and scored a career-high 33 points with 12 rebounds in 28 minutes of action. Mitchell added 25 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Glenn Martin (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker) had 16 points and six rebounds and Keith Tilley (Kew Gardens, NY) 15 points and six boards for the Lions (4-5).
