Felician Athletics - 12/7/06 MEN'S BASKETBALL - GBC Pulls Away From Men's Basketball, 67-62

WILMINGTON, Del. -- The Goldey-Beacom College men's basketball team shot 64 percent on second-half field-goal attempts to pull away from visiting Felician College, 67-62, on Thursday night at MBNA Hall.

A three-point field goal by Goldey-Beacom's Derek Savage gave his team the lead it would never relinquish, 37-36 with 13:53 remaining in regulation. The Lightning pushed its edge to 46-39 with 7:02 to play, but the Golden Falcons remained within striking distance. GBC's hot shooting kept it on top, with the lead hovering between three and seven points until two Adrian Miles free throw made it 64-55 with under a minute left.

Prior to Savage's three, the game featured four ties and eight lead changes. Felician trailed, 26-25, at halftime.

D.J. Stanberry led all scorers with 19 points for the Lightning (3-4, 1-2). James Jones (West Haven, CT) scored 16 points off the bench for the Golden Falcons (2-6, 2-3).
