RUTHERFORD, N.J. – An offensive rebound and two free throws by James Jones (West Haven, CT/West Haven) with 13 seconds to play sealed Felician College’s 73-68 victory over visiting Dominican (N.Y.) College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men’s basketball action Tuesday night at Job Gym. It was Felician’s home opener and the first conference game for both schools.

Dominican (0-3, 0-1) missed a potential game-tying three-pointer with less than a minute remaining in regulation, and after his team ran the shot clock down, Jones rebounded a teammate’s miss. Jones was fouled out of a timeout and made both of his attempts for the final margin. The Golden Falcons’ final seven points came at the foul line, on nine attempts. Earlier in the half, the Chargers had erased an 11-point deficit to twice tie the game, the last time at 67-67 with 2:20 to play.

Felician senior Michael Pierrot (Melville, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) led all players with 23 points and four blocked shots. Sydir Mitchell (Clifton, NJ/Paterson Catholic) added 16 points for the Golden Falcons (1-3, 1-0).

Prince Jackson (Schenectady, NY) had 20 points and six rebounds and Ron Wyatt (Washingtonville, NY) 16 points for Dominican.
