 RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College’s James Harper of Eatontown has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today.
Harper, a redshirt freshman forward, came off the bench to average 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in 21.0 minutes per game during Felician’s 0-2 weekend at the Minnesota State Pepsi Tip-Off in Mankato, Minn. In his collegiate debut, Harper scored 20 points in 18 minutes in Friday night’s loss to No. 19 Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Harper shot 13 for 16 (.813) from the floor for the weekend, including 6 for 6 in the Golden Falcons’ loss to the University of Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday. He is a 2005 graduate of Long Branch High. Monday’s award was the first weekly honor handed out by the CACC for the 2006-07 season.
