SCIBETTA BEAM Arianna Beam of North Arlington, a senior midfielder on the women's soccer team at Felician College, has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the CACC released today. Middletown native Amanda Scibetta of the women's cross-country team was named CACC Runner of the Week.
Beam led the Golden Falcons to a season-ending 2-0-1 week by registering a goal and an assist in each victory. Felician earned non-conference wins over Mercy College, 4-2, on Friday night, and Concordia (N.Y.) College, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon, both at home. Beam completed her final collegiate season as the Golden Falcons' second-leading scorer with five goals and three assists. A 2003 graduate of North Arlington High, she is majoring in elementary education.
Scibetta was an automatic selection after winning the CACC individual championship on Saturday and being named conference Runner of the Year. She was also an all-league runner as a redshirt freshman in 2005. A Middletown North graduate, she is majoring in education/art.
Beam and Scibetta are the first CACC Players of the Week for Felician in the 2006-07 academic year.
