ImageRUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Janelle Biamonte of Secaucus has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women’s Basketball First Team for the College Division in District II, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Biamonte won the same award in 2009, and is the first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree in any sport in Felician history. As a First Team selection, she advances to the national Academic All-America ballot. Biamonte carries a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average as a double-major in elementary education and English. She is in her third year at Felician after transferring from Montclair State University.

In 2009-10, Biamonte has started all 18 games for the Golden Falcons at small forward. She is averaging 14.6 points and 6.9 rebounds, and recently became the school’s all-time leader in three-point field goals. Felician is tied for fourth place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division with nine games remaining.

CoSIDA’s District II is comprised of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The College Division consists of all non-Division I institutions.
