RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Felician College men's basketball team is ranked No. 10 in the NCAA Division II East Region, according to rankings released today by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee. It is believed to be the first time in school history that the Felician men's basketball program has attained a regional ranking.
Led by first-year head coach David DeFerrari, Felician is off to the best start in program history at 13-4. The Golden Falcons sit in second place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division with a 6-2 league record heading into Thursday's night's conference tilt at Post University.
Felician is one of three CACC teams in the regional top 10. Bloomfield College, the first place team in the CACC North, is ranked seventh, and Philadelphia University is No. 8. Bloomfield and Philadelphia have handed the Golden Falcons their only two CACC losses.
Today's regional rankings were the first set releases for the 2009-10 season. Rankings will be released weekly until March 3.
