 KENNEDY  YOUNG SPARKILL, N.Y. -- Junior Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) scored his 1,000th career point and senior Ethan Kennedy (Albuquerque, NM) had a career-high 26 points as the Felician College men's basketball team defeated host St. Thomas Aquinas College, 81-68, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Aquinas Hall.
Kennedy scored 16 first-half points as Felician (5-0) took a 42-32 lead into the locker room. The Golden Falcons then opened the second half with a 16-4 run, capped by Young's three-point play with 15:17 remaining. Felician took its largest lead at 72-45 at the 8:10 mark. Kennedy finished 10-for-15 from the floor, including 5 of 7 from three-point range, in 22 mintues.
Young became the fifth 1,000-point scorer in the 14-year history of the Felician program. He reached the milestone on a putback with 12:51 to go in the contest. He has exactly 1,000 points in 61 career games.
Antoine Obery (Roselle, NJ) (7-11 FG) recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds and Young finished with 12 points for the Golden Falcons, who continued the best start in program history. Jamie Blanchard (Brooklyn, NY) topped STAC (1-5) with 18 points. Felician shot 54 percent for the day and owned a 35-27 rebounding advantage.
