BOSTON -- Freshman Taylor Trumbetti (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) was the No. 1 runner for the Felician College men's cross-country team at the 2009 NCAA Division II East Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Sunday afternoon at Franklin Park.
Trumbetti placed 56th out of 180 entrants, completing the 10,000-meter course in 34 minutes, 27 seconds. He was the Golden Falcons' frontrunner for the first time in his career, helping the team to a 14th place finish out of 24 schools. Junior Jay Rodgers (Westmont, NJ) was 61st in 34:40.
Also scoring for Felician were sophomore John Wambui (Mbita, Kenya) (88th, 35:36), senior Brad Schepise (93rd, 35:43), and freshman Tim Kicha (Saddle Brook, NJ) (112th, 37:08). The host River Hawks won the regional championship, and freshman Glarius Rop of American International College was the individual champion in 30:15.
