Felician Athletics - 11/8/09 WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY - Women's Cross-Country Completes Season At Regional

BOSTON -- The Felician College women's cross-country team completed its 2009 season by competing in the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship on Sunday afternoon at Franklin Park.

The meet combined the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, which includes Felician, with the East Coast Conference and the Northeast-10 Conference. Junior Sarah Root (Aberdeen, NJ) was the only Golden Falcon to place in the top half of the competition, crossing the finish line 78th out of 178 entrants with a 6,000-meter time of 26 minutes, two seconds.

The other Golden Falcons runners ended up withing 14 places of each other. Sophomore Leslie Feola (Oak Ridge, NJ) was 141st in 28:26. She was followed by freshman Jacqueline Rivera (Haskell, NJ) (151st, 29:12), junior Kaitlyn Minehan (Ocean City, NJ) (155th, 29:39), and freshman Alyssa Philhower (Clifton, NJ) (157th, 29:51). Felician finished 24th in the team standings.
