BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Despite 15 kills each from Amber Doran (Little Ferry, NJ) and Jenna Matesic (Paramus, NJ), the Felician College volleyball team was defeated by host Concordia (N.Y.) College, 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 26-24) on Tuesday night at Meyer Athletic Center.
Felician (4-23, 3-13) was held to a .000 attack percentage in the first two sets before rebounding for a third-set victory. Set 4 was a see-saw affair. The Golden Falcons recovered from an early 5-0 deficit to take a 16-9 lead. The Clippers roared back to tie the set at 17-17, and eventually went ahead, 24-20. The Golden Falcons saved four set points, three on aces from Megan Delamater (Paramus, NJ), before succumbing, 26-24.
CACC newcomer Concordia (1-22, 1-15) picked up its first league victory. The Clippers put four hitters in double-figures in kills, set up by 42 assists and 12 digs from setter Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA).
Delamater finished with four kills and five aces for Felician.
