RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Rob Albano of Pompton Plains has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Cross-Country Runner of the Week and Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today.
Albano won the CACC’s Runner of the Week award for the fourth time this season. It is the fitfth instance he has won the league’s Rookie of the Week honor, and the third time he has won both awards in the same week.
His latest recognition came after Albano finished in third place out of 151 entrants at Saturday’s Collegiate Track Conference Championships, hosted by Richard Stockton College. He completed the 8,000-meter (five-mile) course in 26 minutes, 30 seconds, and was Felician’s frontrunner as the Golden Falcons placed fourth out of 13 schools in the team standings.
Albano has been Felician’s top finisher in all seven races this season, placing in the top 10 overall each time. He is a 2009 graduate of Pequannock Township High.
