Felician Athletics - 10/10/09 WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY - Cross-Country Takes On Hills Of Holmdel

HOLMDEL, N.J. -- The Felician College women's cross-country team made its annual trip to Holmdel Park on Saturday, to take on its notoriously steep course during the Monmouth Invitational. Facing teams at all levels of college competition, the Golden Falcons finished sixth out of 10 schools.

Junior Sarah Root (Aberdeen, NJ) was the only Golden Falcon to break 22 minutes, completing 5,000 meters in 20:53. She placed 20th out of 80 competitors.

The next three Felician finishers crossed the line within 38 seconds of each other. Leslie Feola (Oak Ridge, NJ) was 32nd in 22:05, followed by Jacqueline Rivera (Haskell, NJ) (39th, 22:32), and Sophia Chick (Edison, NJ) (44th, 22:43). Redshirt freshman Alyssa Philhower (Clifton, NJ) rounded out the scoring, placing 62nd in 25:21.
