RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Rob Albano of Pompton Plains has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Cross-Country Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today. Albano has won that honor four times out of five weeks this season.

Albano’s latest award follows his performance at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University on Friday. He finished eighth overall out of 245 entrants, and his 8,000-meter time of 26 minutes, four seconds, was 10 seconds shy of his own school record. He helped the Golden Falcons to an eighth-place showing in the team standings out of 31 schools.

Albano has finished in the top 10 in all five Felician events this season. In his last three races, he has posted the three fastest 8K times in program history. In addition to his four Rookie of the Week awards, he has been chosen the CACC Runner of the Week three times. Albano is a 2009 graduate of Pequannock Township High.
