 CALABRESE  BALMOS RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College baseball student-athletes Anthony Balmos (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), Jeff Calabrese (Freehold, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) and Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Spring 2009 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced today.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC winter championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher.
Calabrese, a junior pitcher, is a repeat selection, having also earned CACC All-Academic honors in 2008. He maintains a 3.74 GPA as a business administrator major. He had a 3-5 record and two saves in 15 appearances this season. Calabrese made the all-CACC first team in 2007 as a reliever.
Sophomores Balmos and Zudonyi qualified in their first year of eligibility for the all-academic squad. Balmos, an outfielder, carries a 3.68 GPA while majoring in accounting. He batted .267 with a home run in 29 games. Zudonyi, an all-region second-baseman, is a marketing/management major and owns a GPA of 3.52. In 47 games, he hit .307 with three homers, 42 runs scored, 27 runs batted in, and 20 stolen bases.
