Felician Athletics - 6/10/09 VOLLEYBALL - Regional Play Rules 2009 Volleyball Schedule

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – East Region play dominates the non-conference portion of the 2009 Felician College women’s volleyball schedule, which was released today.

Felician will play 29 matches next season, all against fellow NCAA Division II opponents. Its 19-match Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule begins on Sept. 15 at Post University, and includes two matches against new CACC North Division member Concordia (N.Y.) College (home, Sept. 29; away, Oct. 27).

Led by third-year head coach Alan Clements, the Golden Falcons also play nine of their 10 non-league tilts against East Region competition, five versus the East Coast Conference and four against Northeast-10 Conference foes. Felician travels to the Kutztown University Tournament and opens with the host Golden Bears of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference on Fri., Sept. 11. The longest road trip is a tri-match at Southern New Hampshire University on Sept. 19.

Felician is looking to rebound from a 3-28 won-lost record in 2008.

“With the return of setter Nicole Degenhardt (from a medical redshirt season), as well as other additions to the team, we hope to be much improved this year,” Clements said. “Our goal is to be more competitive in every match, to the point where we have a chance to win every time we step onto the court.”
