 MIDDLETOWN, Del. – Felician College was voted the winner of the 2009 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Golf Team Sportsmanship Award, according to balloting released late Tuesday.
The conference’s 11 head coaches voted on the award following the conclusion of the CACC Championship tournament on Tuesday evening. The annual award is given to the program that best exemplifies the spirit of competition and sportsmanship throughout the season.
The honor marks the first Team Sportsmanship Award for the golf program’s during its four-year membership in the CACC. The conference tournament concluded the season for the Golden Falcons, coached by Ben DiNallo Jr. It is the first CACC Sportsmanship Award in any sport for Felician since the 2007-08 women's basketball team, also coached by DiNallo, took the prize.
