Felician Athletics - 4/16/09 GOLF - Felician Plays Final Tune-Up For CACCs

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Sophomore Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) shot a four-over-par 76 as the Felician College golf team completed its dual-match season with three losses at a quad match hosted by Nyack College on Thursday afternoon at Blue Hill Golf Course.

Felician recorded a 330 team score, falling to St. Thomas Aquinas College (303), Caldwell College (316), and the host Warriors (320). The Golden Falcons ended the fourth season in program history with a dual-match won-lost mark of 4-9, setting a school record for victories.

Leardo finished fifth out of 20 competitors, and junior Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ) was 10th with an 81. Also scoring were juniors Rob Young (Glendale, NY) (85, 14th) and Jason Smith (Gibbstown, NJ) (88, T-18th). Chris Fitzpatrick of STAC was the medalist with 70.

The Golden Falcons will complete the 2008-09 campaign at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships, hosted by Wilmington (Del.) University, on Monday and Tuesday.
