RIVERHEAD, N.Y. -- The Felician golf team established new team school records for 18 and 36 holes during the Fifth Annual Peter King Memorial, hosted by Dowling College at Long Island National Golf Club, on Sunday and Monday. Felician finished 16th out of 18 schools in the tournament.

The Golden Falcons shaved 12 strokes off of the one-day team record on Monday, firing a 323 on Day 2 of the event. Along with their 349 on Monday, they lowered the team school mark for a 36-hole tournament by 10 shots to 672. The previous mark of 682 was set last week at the Goldey-Beacom College Spring Invitational.

Sophomore Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) was Felician's leading scorer, tying for 19th place out of 88 entrants with 78-79-157 on the 6,720-yard, par-71 course. Junior Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ) recovered from an opening round 90 to shoot 75, his season low and the team's second-best round of the year, on a rainy Monday morning. His 165 tied for 51st place. Juniors Jason Smith (Gibbstown, NJ) (89-86-175) and Rob Young (Glendale, NY) (92-83-175) tied for 78th place.

Post University (302-311) won the team championship with a 45-over-par 613, and Kent Graham (75-74-149) of American International College was the medalist.
