Felician Athletics - 4/5/09 GOLF - Golden Falcons 17th After Day 1 At Dowling

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. -- The Felician College golf team sits in 17th place out of 18 teams after the first day of competition at the 36-hole Peter King Memorial, hosted by Dowling College at Long Island National Golf Club.

Felician posted an 18-hole team score of 348 on Sunday. Sophomore Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) led the Golden Falcon delegation with a 78. Junior Jason Smith (Gibbstown, NJ) shot 89 from the No. 4 spot in the line-up, a score matched by classmate Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ). Junior Rob Young (Glendale, NY) rounded out the team scoring with a 92, and the No. 5 starter, Pat Raines (Rutherford, NJ), fired a 104.

The tournament concludes on Monday.
