AVONDALE, Pa. -- Sophomore Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) set an individual school record for a 36-hole event at the Goldey-Beacom College Spring Golf Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Hartefeld National Golf Club. On Tuesday, he tied his own Felician mark for an 18-hole round, and became the first player in program history to shoot par.
Leardo's scores of 77-72 for a five-over par 149 placed him fourth overall out of 81 entrants. His even-par round on Tuesday matched the 72 he fired at the par-71 Racebrook Country Club in Orange, Conn., last season for the Felician one-day record.
The Golden Falcons ended up 14th out of 16 schools in the team standings. Also contributing to the team score were junior Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ) (79-90-169, T-58th), junior Rob Young (Glendale, NY) (83-91-174, T-67th), and freshman Pat Raines (Rutherford, NJ) (100-94-194, 75th). Raines's 94 on Tuesday was a season low.
