ImageRUTHERFORD, N.J. – Five Felician College women’s basketball student-athletes have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Winter 2008-09 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced today.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC winter championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher.

All five Felician honorees were named to the All-Academic team for the first time, including four in their first year of eligibility. Senior forward Amanda Bartee (Jersey City, NJ/St. Mary-Jersey City) owns a 3.57 GPA in psychology, while classmate Phylicia Daniels (Bronx, NY/Canarsie), a second-year transfer from Hostos Community College, owns a 3.62 GPA in business administration while attending Felician.

Junior forward/guard Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ/Marist) is a double-major in elementary education and English, and has posted a 3.98 GPA in her three semesters as a Golden Falcon. Sophomore guards Breanne DeFalco (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) (3.79, elementary education/history) and Shannon Gilmartin (Port Monmouth, NJ/Mater Dei) (3.93, accounting) also qualified for the team.

The five players join Devon Young of the men’s basketball team as winter honorees. The six student-athletes for the Golden Falcons are the most of any CACC member.
