RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College sophomore Devon Young of Monmouth Junction has been named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Second Team, the CACC released today. The conference’s 12 head coaches voted on the award winners.
Young, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound guard, is an all-conference selection for the first time. In 2008-09, he has started all 28 games, and is averaging a team-high 15.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. He ranks 11th in the CACC in scoring and tied for 10th in three-pointers (1.59 per game).
The 2008 CACC Rookie of the Year, Young is already among Felician’s top 10 all-time scorers with 885 points in 55 games. He is a 2007 graduate of South Brunswick High.
Young had 26 points and 11 rebounds in the Golden Falcons’ CACC quarterfinal victory at Post University on Tuesday night. Felician, the North Division’s No. 3 seed, takes a 16-12 overall record into Friday’s conference semifinals against the South’s No. 1 seed and event host Philadelphia University. Under fourth-year head coach Del G. Harrison, it is the second-highest victory total in the 13-year program history.
