LYNDHURST, N.J. – A three-run walk-off home run by senior Nicole Degenhardt (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) gave Felician College a 7-4 Game 2 victory over visiting Goldey-Beacom College and a sweep of the teams’ Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Matera Field. Felician (12-25, 5-15) homered three times in winning Game 1, 4-3.

In the nightcap, Felician trailed, 4-3, heading into the bottom of the seventh inning when Amber Doran (Little Ferry, NJ/Ridgefield Park) led off with a double. Following a walk and a sacrifice, Hope Van Dyke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford) drove in the tying run with an RBI single. Degenhardt followed with a line drive over the left field fence, her fourth round-tripper of the season and second of the day.

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Felician College softball team lost both ends of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader to host Concordia (N.Y.) College, 16-1 and 8-0, on Thursday afternoon at Clipper Field.

4/14/10 SOFTBALL - Mateo Sets School Records In Split With STAC

SPARKILL, N.Y. – Winning pitcher Grace Keller (Hoboken, NJ) had two hits and a run batted in as Felician College defeated host St. Thomas Aquinas College, 6-4, and earned a split of the teams’ non-conference softball doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Field. St. Thomas Aquinas had won the day’s opening game, 6-1. Felician freshman Justine Mateo (Jersey City, NJ) set three school records during her team’s Game 2 victory.

Keller (5-3) allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits and struck out three in a complete-game effort in the nightcap. Felician (10-23) broke a scoreless tie with a four-run rally in the top of the third inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Lauren DeGrushe (Guttenberg, NJ).
