KROWL CLERMONT, Fla. -- Jenna Krowl's (Kearny, NJ) two-run single keyed a come-from-behind 3-2 season-opening victory for the Felician College softball team against American International College in non-league action on Monday at the National Training Center. Felician split a morning doubleheader with the Yellow Jackets, dropping Game 2, 2-1, before losing to Assumption College, 8-0, later on Monday.
AIC's Michelle Franey (Abington, MA) broke a scoreless tie with a two-out, two-run triple in the top of the fifth inning of Game 1. But Krowl answered in the bottom of the frame, delivering a base hit to right field with runners on second and third bases and two outs. In the home half of the seventh, Golden Falcon freshman Grace Keller (Hoboken, NJ) doubled with one out, and was replaced on a fielder's choice by Amber Doran (Little Ferry, NJ). Doran would score the winning run when a fly ball off the bat of Krowl was dropped for an error. |

Felician will have two new pitchers and may start a freshman catcher, but Hill, who normally brings her teams a calm outlook, has not wavered. |
