10/6/08 GOLF - Golfers Go 2-1 In First Duals Of Season

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. -- Led by a third-place finish from junior Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ), the Felician College golf team defeated two of three opponents at a four-team dual match hosted by Philadelphia University on Monday afternoon at the ACE Club. The round marked the second event and first dual-match competition for the Golden Falcons in the 2008-09 season.

Peters produced a nine-over-par total of 81 for 18-holes, heading Felician's team score of 344. The Golden Falcons edged the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia by two strokes, and also defeated Chestnut Hill College, which shot 417. Only the host Rams' four-man total of 339 bettered Felician on the day. The Golden Falcons tied the school record for dual victories in a season, and defeated USP for the first time in program history.

MIDDLETOWN, Del. -- The Felician College golf team began its fourth varsity season with a seventh-place showing at the 36-hole Wilmington University Fall Classic, held Sunday and Monday at Back Creek Golf Course.

9/28/08 GOLF - Golf Team Sets School Record At Wilmington
MIDDLETOWN, Del. -- In its first round of the 2008-09 season, the Felician golf team set a team school record at the Wilmington University Fall Classic on Sunday morning.

A school's top four individual rounds count for its team score. Felician received 79s from both sophomore Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) and junior Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ), a career-low 81 from junior Rob Young (Glendale, NY) and a 99 by junior Jason Smith (Gibbstown, NJ) for a total of 338.

Peters, Leardo, Young and Nick Lyons held the previous record of 347. The tournament, a 36-hole event, continues on Monday at Back Creek Golf Club.
 
8/21/08 GOLF - Gibbstown's Smith Commits To Felician Golf
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Former Gloucester County College (GCC) student Jason Smith of Gibbstown has signed an athletic financial aid agreement to continue his golf career at Felician College, Felician head coach Ben DiNallo Jr. announced today.
