RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Six Felician College baseball players have been elected to the 2010 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Teams, according to balloting released on Wednesday. Freshman outfielder Joe Petosa (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) and junior pitcher Joel Sanchez (Hialeah, FL/Monsignor Pace) were chosen for the First Team. The voting was done by the league's 11 head coaches.

Mickey Zudonyi is 10 for 11 with seven RBI in his last three games.

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Junior Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) went 4 for 4 and drove in the go-ahead run as Felician College defeated visiting Chestnut Hill College, 7-4, in the playdown round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

Felician (26-22), the No. 3 seed, advances to the double-elimination main draw of the tournament in Wilmington, Del. The Golden Falcons will take on No. 2 seed Dominican (N.Y.) College on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Wilson Field, and play again on Friday at Frawley Stadium at a time to be announced. RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College baseball team has qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoffs as the No. 3 seed. Felician will host No. 6 seed Chestnut Hill College in the tournament’s playdown round on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

This is the first year of the CACC’s playdown round, which is single-elimination and includes seeds 3-6. Tuesday’s winners will advance to the four-team double-elimination portion of the tournament, which will commence on Thursday in New Castle, Del.

ZUDONYI

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- The Felician College baseball team swept its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader from visiting University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, 9-3 and 5-4, late Saturday at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. The games ended the regular season for both schools. With the victories, Felician secured a spot in next week's CACC playoffs. Junior Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) stole the show on Senior Day for the Golden Falcons, driving in the go-ahead run in both contests.

In the opener, Felician (25-22, 13-7) erased a 3-0 deficit by rallying for five runs after two were out in the bottom of the sixth inning. Zudonyi capped the rally with a three-run triple. The Golden Falcons tacked on three runs in the seventh inning and one in the eighth. Zudonyi finished 2 for 3 with four runs batted in.
