Danny Conti threw his first career shutout on Apr. 28, 2009.
LYNDHURST, N.J. – Junior left-hander Danny Conti (Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan Regional) pitched his first career shutout on Tuesday evening, a three-hitter that lifted the Felician College baseball team to a 2-0 Game 2 victory over Nyack College and a sweep of the teams’ Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader at Breslin Field. Felician (23-21, 13-11) also won Game 1, 13-6.

Conti needed only 70 pitches for his seven-inning victory in the nightcap. In a contest completed in one hour, 16 minutes, he walked none and struck out none. Conti pitched around three singles, a hit batsman, and two Golden Falcon errors, allowing only one Warrior to reach third base.

4/28/09 BASEBALL - Pitcher Of Week Honor Goes To Ernst
Kevin ErnstRUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College sophomore Kevin Ernst of Manalapan has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the CACC announced late Monday.

Ernst, a 6-foot-5 right-hander, earned a win and a save during a 2-4 week for the Golden Falcons, tossing nine scoreless innings. He yielded three hits in 7 2/3 innings in his team’s 5-0 win at Nyack College last Thursday, then picked up his first career save by striking out three batters in 1 1/3 innings in Game 2 against Philadelphia University on Sunday. For the week he struck out five batters and walked two, and had an opponent batting average of .105.

4/27/09 BASEBALL - Baseball Falls At Dowling; DiBenedetti Sets Record
SHIRLEY, N.Y. – Senior center fielder Vinnie DiBenedetti (Forked River, NJ) became the Felician College all-time leader in runs scored during the Golden Falcons’ 7-2 non-conference loss to host Dowling College on Monday afternoon at Golden Lions Field. Dowling is the No. 6 team in the most recent NCAA Division II Baseball Committee East Region ranking.
