6/1/09 BASEBALL - Zudonyi Earns Second All-Region Honor
Mickey ZudonyiRUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College sophomore Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) has been named to the 2009 National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) Division II All-East Region Second Team, according to balloting released on Friday.

The NCBWA honor marks the second all-region selection this postseason for Zudonyi, who was also a second-team Daktronics honoree. He was the 2009 first-team all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference second-baseman.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Marcos Torres (Miami, FL/South Miami) and sophomore Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) have been named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II Baseball All-East Region Second Team, according to balloting released today. All sports information directors in the region were eligible to vote.

5/13/09 BASEBALL - Four Golden Falcons Signed By ACBL For Summer
ACBL logoRUTHERFORD, N.J. – Four Felician College baseball players have signed contracts to play in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL), an NCAA-sanctioned wood-bat league, for the summer.

The four Golden Falcons will be teammates on the Jersey Pilots. Right-handed pitcher and rising senior Jeff Calabrese (Lincroft, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) is a returning member of the club. He will be joined by classmates Alex Del Valle (Miami, FL/Christopher Columbus), a shortstop, catcher Marcos Torres (Miami, FL/South Miami), and junior-to-be second-baseman Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel).

5/5/09 BASEBALL - Felician Puts Six On All-CACC Teams

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Six Felician College baseball players have been elected to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Teams, the CACC released today. Juniors Danny Conti (Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan Regional) and Marcos Torres (Miami, FL/South Miami) and sophomore Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) were named to the First Team. The conference’s 10 head coaches voted on the award winners.

Conti, a 5-foot-10 left-handed pitcher, was honored for the first time. He went 4-2 with a save and a league-leading 1.95 earned-run average. In 15 appearances (10 starts), he had four complete games, including a shutout of Nyack on Apr. 28, and an opponent batting average of .211, good for second in the CACC. In 73 2/3 innings, he allowed 56 hits, struck out 47 batters, and walked 21.
