 ERNST NYACK, N.Y. – Sophomore right-hander Kevin Ernst (Manalapan, NJ) and two relievers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Felician College baseball team defeated host Nyack College, 7-0, on Thursday night at Nyack High School. Felician broke a tie with Nyack for third place in the CACC standings with 10 games remaining.
The game remained scoreless until the top of the fifth inning, when Felician’s No. 9 hitter, Anthony Spina (Toms River, NJ) struck for a two-out, two-run triple, then capped a three-run rally by scoring on a wild pitch. The Golden Falcons (20-16, 10-7) received an RBI triple from Vinnie DiBendetti (Forked River, NJ) in the sixth, and tacked on two unearned runs in the seventh. Marcos Torres (Miami, FL) provided the final margin with a ninth-inning sacrifice fly. |
