RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College’s Frank Quintana of Miami, Fla., has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Quintana, a senior first-baseman, hit .562 and slugged 1.312 during a 3-1 week for Felician. He drove in 10 runs and scored six in the four games, and six of his nine hits went for extra bases. He also stole four bases in five attempts. |

 ROSE MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Felician College scored three runs in the seventh inning and three more in the eighth to earn a 12-9 non-conference baseball victory over Mercy College during the Northeast Challenge on Sunday afternoon at the Ripken Experience Complex.
After Felician's first late rally, Mercy (0-4) scored a single run in the top of the eighth to tie the game at 9-9. In the bottom of the frame, the Golden Falcons (5-2) loaded the bases on a walk, a hit batsman, a sacrifice, and an intentional walk. Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ) and Dave Schoer (Manalapan, NJ) drew back-to-back run-scoring walks, and Jonathan Del Franco (Bridgewater, NJ) capped the rally with a sacrifice fly. Reliever Anthony Spina (Toms River, NJ) (2-0) got the last four outs. |

 QUINTANA MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Senior first-baseman Frank Quintana’s (Miami, FL) third homerun of the day led the Felician College baseball team to a come-from-behind 11-10 victory over Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday afternoon, and a sweep of two non-conference games during the Northeast Challenge at the Ripken Experience Complex. On Saturday morning, the Golden Falcons defeated Molloy College, 13-5.
In Felician’s late game, it trailed, 9-8, with two on and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning before Quintana drove the first offering from Queens reliever Vincent Basilicata (0-1) over the left-centerfield fence for the fourth lead change of the game. Quintana’s blast, his second of the game, was estimated at 450 feet. Kevin Barrett (Howell, NJ) worked around a solo homer by the Knights’ Maurice Santana (Queens, NY) to retire the side in the ninth and earn the victory. |
