5/7/07 BASEBALL - Quintana, Melendez Earn Weekly CACC Honors
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College’s Frank Quintana of Miami, Fla., has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It is his third such honor of the 2007 season. Felician’s Richard Melendez, also of Miami, was named CACC Rookie of the Week for the second time.

5/5/07 BASEBALL - Noval Sparks Felician's Game 2 Comeback, Sweep of USP

Jordan Noval went 5 for 5 with 6 RBI, including a game-tying homer and the go-ahead RBI, in Game 2 on Saturday.
PHILADELPHIA -- Sophomore Jordan Noval (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) hit a game-tying three-run homerun and a go-ahead RBI single as Felician College scored 12 unanswered runs for a 15-11, ten-inning Game 2 victory and a sweep of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader with host University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon at Richie Ashburn Field. Felician took Game 1, 11-4, and had 39 hits in the twinbill.

With the victories, Felician (23-23, 10-6), earned a tie for second place in the CACC, and the No. 3 seed in next week's conference tournament. The Golden Falcons have won a season-high five consecutive games.

5/3/07 BASEBALL - Baseball Sweeps Bloomfield, Clinches Playoff Spot

LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician College stroked 29 hits and its starting pitchers allowed one run on nine hits in 13 innings as it swept visiting Bloomfield College, 13-1 and 12-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader on Thursday afternoon at Breslin Field. Combined with Wilmington (Del.) College’s 8-3 victory over Philadelphia University, the wins clinchéd a CACC playoff spot for the Golden Falcons.

Felician starting pitchers Scott VanEs (Secaucus, NJ) and Kevin Ernst (Manalapan, NJ) each picked up their first victories of the season. Golden Falcon pitchers went the entire 18 innings without issuing a walk or a hit batsman. Senior Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ) picked up his 150th career base hit in the opener, while classmate Frank Quintana (Miami, FL) became the second member of Felician’s 200-hit club in the nightcap.

Ray Rose had three hits and five RBI on Tuesday
LINCROFT, N.J. – Senior left-fielder Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ) had five runs batted in to key Felician College’s 9-7 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball victory over visiting Nyack College on Thursday afternoon at Brookdale Community College.

Rose had a go-ahead two-run single in the bottom of the third inning to cap a three-run rally as Felician (19-23, 6-6) rebounded from an early 2-0 deficit. He lined another two-run single up the middle during the Golden Falcons’ five-run fourth inning, and added an RBI single in the sixth, finishing 3 for 4 plus a walk on the day.
