RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Felician College's Frank Quintana (Miami, FL/South Miami) has been voted a 2007 NCAA Division II Daktronics Honorable Mention Baseball All-American, according to balloting released on Tuesday.
Quintana, the Daktronics Northeast Region Player of the Year, was selected by the nation's D-II sports information directors. A first-baseman, he ranks 12th in the country among Division II players in home runs per game (0.33) 14th in slugging percentage (.768) and is in the top 50 in three other categories. Starting all 49 games for Felician, he hit .405 with 19 doubles, school records of 16 homeruns, 59 runs batted in and 59 runs scored, 30 walks, and 23 stolen bases. He led the CACC in six statistical categories, and was also named Player of the Year by the CACC and the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association. He is the Golden Falcons’ all-time leader in homers (35) and RBI (146). |

RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Felician College's Marcos Torres (Miami, FL/South Miami) has been named the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Division II/III Rookie Player of the Week for May 22. It was the final day of weekly awards for the 2007 season.
Torres, a freshman catcher, was considered following his performance the previous week, during which only one other NJCBA team played. He went 4 for 10 with seven RBI, and drove in six runs in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament. |

Quintana earned the same honor as a sophomore in 2005. |
