BRESCIA
PHILADELPHIA – Junior right-fielder Mike Libretta (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) made a diving catch with the potential tying and go-ahead runs on base to end Felician College’s 3-2 Game 2 victory over the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and its sweep of the teams’ Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader Monday afternoon at Richie Ashburn Field. Felician was the scheduled home team and batted last in both games. The Golden Falcons triumphed in Game 1, 11-2.

Libretta’s catch allowed freshman Joe Brescia (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) to set a Felician record and tie a CACC Division-II era (2003-present) mark with his sixth save of the season. Brescia started the top of the seventh inning, and yielded a single to USP’s Dustin Gill (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic), who stole second and third bases. Two outs and a hit batsman later, Libretta tracked a fly ball toward the right-centerfield gap by lefty-swinging Pete LaRocco (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), diving back and to his right to preserve the one-run win.
