RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College swept the first set of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly baseball awards handed out for the 2010 season. Junior Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) was named the Player of the Week, senior Phil Messerian (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) the Pitcher of the Week, and freshman Joe Petosa (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) the Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced late Monday.

3/8/10 BASEBALL - Concordia Scores Late To Nip Baseball, 5-4
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Concordia (N.Y.) College scored two eighth inning runs to earn a 5-4 victory over Felician College in non-conference baseball action on Monday afternoon on the campus of Lynn University. Feliican senior Phil Messerian (Fair Lawn, NJ) had two RBI triples in the loss.

3/7/10 BASEBALL - Felician Pitches, Hits Way To Two Wins

LANTANA, Fla. – Senior right-hander Phil Messerian (Fair Lawn, NJ) pitched a five-hit shutout in Felician College’s 5-0 non-conference baseball victory over Long Island University-C.W. Post at the Santaluces Athletic Complex, the second of two wins for Felician on Sunday afternoon during the Palm Beach Challenge. Earlier Sunday, the Golden Falcons defeated the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, 9-4.

Felician (6-6) combined for 26 base hits in the two games, including five each for junior Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ) and sophomore Chris Fogleman (Waxhaw, NC). Against C.W. Post, the Golden Falcons backed Messerian (3-1) with 11 hits, scoring three times in the third inning and twice more in the eighth. Messerian, who did not allow a runner to reach third base, struck out five and walked one.
