Felician Athletics - Basketball (W)

Her participation in Felician College athletics is a big reason why Suzanne Albert (Montreal, Quebec/Mont-Royal) is back at nearly full health today. Albert, a volleyball and basketball student-athlete, sat out all of 2007-08 with a torn anterior cruciate ligament before returning to both sports this season. But that is just the end of her story of recovery, perseverance, and courage.

1/13/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Bartee, Golden Falcons Hold Off Nyack

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College received career highs of 16 points and 14 rebounds from senior power forward Amanda Bartee (Jersey City, NJ/St. Mary) in its 58-54 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division women’s basketball victory over visiting Nyack College on Tuesday evening at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (2-12, 1-4), which led for all but the game’s first 4 ½ minutes, held off a furious Nyack comeback to secure its first league win of the season. The Golden Falcons saw a 10-point lead with three minutes, 37 seconds, left in the second half cut to 50-47 at the 1:35 mark on consecutive baskets by Warrior sophomore Victoria Sweet (Harlem, NY). Felician went back ahead by six with 0:36 to play, but Nyack’s Vera McNeill (Philadelphia, PA) made a lay-up, stole the in-bounds pass, and scored again for a 56-54 deficit and 14.2 seconds remaining. Following a pair of timeouts, two Destiny Thomspon (Paterson, NJ/PCTI) free throws and a defensive stop put the game away for the Golden Falcons.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Molloy College finished with a 24-10 run over the final 13 minutes to earn a 67-53 non-conference women’s basketball victory over host Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

12/28/08 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - STAC Closes Out Felician, 58-54

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – St. Thomas Aquinas College held host Felician College to two points in the final 3 ½ minutes of its 58-54 non-conference women’s basketball victory on Sunday afternoon at Job Gymnasium. Felician was playing for the first time in a week and St. Thomas Aquinas its first game since Dec. 16.
