3/5/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Albert Chosen As Finalist For National "Comeback" Award
Suzanne AlbertRUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Felician College graduate student Suzanne Albert (Montreal, Quebec/Mont-Royal has been named as one of 10 finalists for the 2009 V Foundation Comeback Award. The award, presented anually since 2001 by the V Foundation for Cancer Research, is open to male or female college basketball student-athletes in all divisions who have accomplished a personal triumph in the face of adversity.

Albert, who was nominated by the Felician athletics department, is one of only two finalists from non-Division I schools. Her story of fighting multiple sclerosis and a serious knee injury to return to collegiate volleyball and basketball is chronicled at www.felicianathletics.com/content/view/1136/39/.

2/25/09 GENERAL - Pink Zone Fundraiser Tops $400
ImageRUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) joined with the school’s cheerleading team to raise more than $400 in donations for the Kay Yow/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Cancer Fund during the Feb. 17 basketball doubleheader against Post University.

2/21/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Women Earn Senior Day Victory Over USP, 66-63

Destiny Thompson scored 20 points in a Feb. 21 win over USP.
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Freshman guard Destiny Thompson (Paterson, NJ/PCTI) came off the bench to score a season-high 20 points as the Felician College women’s basketball team defeated visiting University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, 66-63, on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (5-21, 3-13) offset a 46-24 rebounding disadvantage with efficient offensive play. The Golden Falcons shot a season-high 45 percent from the floor and committed a season-low 11 turnovers. Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ/Marist) joined four Felician double-figure scorers with 13 points.
