FORD RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Freshman center Jessica Ford (Jersey City, NJ/St. Anthony) scored a season-high 14 points and added 13 rebounds as the Felician College women’s basketball team defeated visiting Post University, 68-64, in overtime on Tuesday evening at Job Gymnasium.
Ford had her first career double-double wrapped up in regulation, then made 4 of 6 free-throw attempts in overtime, as Felician (4-20, 2-12) scored 10 of its 14 points in the extra session at the foul line. Golden Falcon senior Amanda Bartee (Jersey City, NJ/St. Mary), who had five overtime points, gave her team a 64-59 lead with 1:32 left in the contest on an offensive rebound and three-point play. Felician made four of six foul shots the rest of the way, enough to thwart an Eagle comeback attempt. |
